Dr Ellie Birtley is a sex therapist serving the Hampshire area who is focused on improving your sexual and relationship wellbeing.

Sex and sexual concerns or problems can feel difficult, or even embarrassing for people to talk about. Whether this is with a partner or someone else close to you, it may feel overly personal or a tough subject to bring up. Speaking with a therapist – someone who is separate from your daily life – can be the first step on the road to alleviating the stress created around whatever issue you may be experiencing, and it can be much easier to open up in a safe space.

Treating sexual problems is important because your sexual health can have a massive impact on your general wellbeing and personal relationships. I can employ a variety of both physical and psychological treatments, depending on the condition or problem, from my therapy room in Midhurst near Hampshire to treat or help manage what may be causing anxieties during, or through, sex. In some cases, combinations of physical and psychological treatments may be the most successful path to go.

As a medically qualified professional, I can work closely with your GP (with your consent of course and no matter if they are in Hampshire or another area in the vicinity) if tests or investigations are required to fully assess your problem and make an accurate diagnosis. Additionally, due to my medical qualification, I can also prescribe treatments, such as tablets, injections, and/or pumps for erectile difficulties.
